Dr. David Ellis,
EGL Ventures
Dr. David Ellis has over 27 years of investment experience, as well as substantial operations experience at the CxO level in European and U.S. growth companies. He received his BS in Chemistry and his PhD in Biophysics from St. Andrews University in Scotland. As a managing director at 3i, he had oversight of over 200 private equity investments. He founded EGL in 1988.
Don Taylor
Don Taylor has over 20 years of management experience in business application software, software-as-a-service, and business process outsourcing. He has held key leadership positions in four successful technology start-ups, with an emphasis in Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Operations and Finance. Mr. Taylor’s industry experience has primarily been in the areas of financial services, technology, telecommunications, and transportation. He received his BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology.
Don Campbell, CEO,
VMT
Don Campbell brings a broad management background in the software and high technology industry to Virtual Management Technologies (VMT). He has been responsible for the start up of three high technology ventures and has served in general management and senior executive positions for a number of software, computer services and transaction processing companies.
Most recently, he served as President of the Highland Consulting Group. Prior to that, he held senior executive positions with Idapta, Ross Systems, Comdata Corporation, Sungard Data Systems, Hogan Systems and Cincom Systems. He brings over 20 years of experience in General Management, Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Product Management.
A co-founder of VMT, Campbell is focused on the vision of bringing the power of big company technology to smaller organizations at a reasonable cost. By aggregating the cost of this expensive technology across a broad base of users, VMT is capable of lowering IT costs significantly and providing a stable and predictable IT infrastructure.
Campbell was educated at Hartwick College and the University of Paris, France.
Campbell is the President of the Board of Directors of CURE Childhood Cancer, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer. CURE Childhood Cancer invests in focused research at the AFLAC Cancer Center at Atlanta’s Children’s Hospital, funding general education about this devastating disease and supporting the needs of patients and their families.
Campbell is also a member of the Board of Directors of the TAG Finance Society of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). TAG Finance focuses on delivering specialized content on the management of the finance, tax, legal and administration disciplines within the Georgia technology community.
Victor Kannan, President & CEO,
Symbioun Technologies Inc.
For 15 years, prior to founding Symbioun Technologies Inc. in 2004, Victor was a CFO for American Megatrends, a high-tech company and Cadillac Jack, a Gaming company. He has extensive experience in restructuring companies, reengineering business processes and implementing ERP applications. He has effectively led Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology and Management Information System teams. His experience spans the Banking, Financial, High-Tech, Manufacturing, Gaming and Amusement industries. He is currently serving on the Board of Advisors of Branch Banking and Trust Company (BB&T, having more than $150 billion in assets) and is on the Board of several other profit and non-profit organizations.
